Gainesville Campus 3D: Preview UF Buildings and Rooms
The app displays Gainesville campus buildings and public room information in 3D, then shows an approximate route from a fixed starting point to the selected building.
Gainesville Campus 3D
Search UF campus buildings and public room numbers, then preview an approximate 3D route to the selected destination.
Open the 3D map →A building name and room number may not tell a first-time visitor where to find the entrance or corridor. Gainesville Campus 3D lets users preview selected campus buildings and indoor locations that public sources document. Users can search by building name, abbreviation, or room number.
Users can search by building name or room number
The app supports indoor paths for Rhines Hall 100, 108, and 125 and for Marston Science Library L136 and L308. The app also supports publicly documented rooms on the first and second floors of the Norman Hall Education Library. The app displays only the building entrance and official room number when no public corridor map is available.
The app displays documented indoor layouts for the first floor of Rhines Hall, the first and third floors of Marston, and the first and second floors of the Education Library. The app represents floors 2, 4, and 5 of Marston only as simple blocks for public spaces on each floor. The current interface is in Korean, and users can search building names and room numbers in English.
The app displays a campus route from a fixed starting point
After a user selects a destination, the app displays an approximate route from a fixed point near Reitz Union to the selected building. The app provides floor buttons and a path to the room when public indoor information is available. The app tells users to check on-site signs and current UF maps when no public corridor map is available.
The app does not track the user’s current location. The app does not request location permission or an account. The app does not send search terms or selected places to a server.
This independent prototype is approximate and cannot guide emergency evacuation
The builder referred to public information from the UF Campus Map, UF MSE, UF Libraries, and UFIT. The builder created the buildings and indoor spaces with Three.js shapes instead of copying original map images or photographs. The builder assigned approximate building positions, distances, and scale for the 3D display. Distances on the screen may therefore differ from actual distances.
The app does not reflect current access, construction, locked doors, or class schedules. Users must also check on-site signs and current UF guidance. The University of Florida did not create or approve this app. The app does not use UF logos or original map images, and the app does not provide emergency evacuation routes.
