About

Seunghoon Choi

I am an engineer and a creator. After solving a complex or tedious problem myself, I document the process and turn useful parts into tools that others can use. In fall 2026, I plan to begin a Ph.D. in Computational Materials Science at the University of Florida (UF).

Degrees and research matter, but so does keeping an honest record of how I got here. I want to solve problems I have faced firsthand and share what I learn.

I hope the next person finds the path a little easier because I went first.

Career Timeline

  • Fall 2026 · Incoming Ph.D. Student, Computational Materials Science: University of Florida, Gainesville, FL
  • 2025-2026 · Visiting Researcher, Electrical-Electronics and Robotics Engineering: Korea National University of Transportation, Chungju, Korea
  • 2023-2025 · Electrode Process Technical Advisor: EV cell joint venture, Yancheng, China (preparing a new production line for mass production)
  • 2021-2023 · Electrode Process Engineer: leading EV battery manufacturer, Seosan, Korea (production management)

Industry Experience

From 2021 to 2025, I worked in lithium-ion battery electrode manufacturing in Korea and China, first in process operations and later in a technical advisory role. My work covered slurry preparation, coating, calendering, and slitting, as well as production readiness for a new line and manufacturing-data standardization.
